Uniting good Economics with the Political across a united front would be a formidable weapon in the arsenal of democracy to promote a more peaceful world and help to deter egregious conflicts like we are currently seeing in the Ukraine. Although, it might be difficult to over come the short sighted political and nationalistic arguments, which will be expressed in opposition to this proposal. Nation-states should take the long view, peaceful co-existence amongst the nations would greatly benefit our planet.
